Anne Riley

Anne graduated from Penn State in The College of the Liberal Arts  with a B.A. in English in 1964 and an M.A. in English in 1975. She taught English at State College High School for thirty-one years and enjoyed sharing academic and cultural life with her students and their families. Currently she is pleased to be a member of the Board of Visitors of the English Department since it helps her to stay connected to her profession and serve as a mentor to students.

Anne was elected to the Penn State Board of Trustees by the alumni in 1997 and reelected in 2000, 2003, and 2006. For the Board, she has served as chair of the Educational Policy Committee and the Campus Environment Committee and has been a member of the Executive Committee.

A past president of the Penn State Alumni Association, she served on its Council and Executive Board for eighteen years. She was a member of the building committee for the Hintz Family Alumni Center and helped to establish the Alumni Association's Penn State Distinguished Teaching Fellow Award and to expand international programs, specifically Penn State/UK/Cambridge. She is chair of the Board of Visitors for the Center for Sports Journalism in the College of Communications. She is a member of the Board of the Penn State Renaissance Fund.

In the community she is a member and past president of the State College Literary Club; an emerita director of the Mount Nittany Conservancy, and a member of the Community Advisory Board of Nittany Bank. Currently she is teaching classes for the Community Academy of Lifelong Learning.

Anne resides in Boalsburg, PA.
