This one-day event, in the process of acknowledging the career of Jack Selzer, will feature prominent scholars in contemporary rhetorical studies, including (though not only) alumni from Penn State’s highly ranked rhetoric programs in English and CAS. In addition to one keynote speaker, the event will consist of a series of panels and roundtables which will explore several scholarly developments that have been prominent in the field in the past three decades, developments that Selzer has had a hand in shaping. These developments include the reinvigoration of Kenneth Burke studies (especially through the contributions of women scholars); archival research methods; rhetorical pedagogy; and the rhetoric of science and technology.

Pre-registration is required.
