Jo Ann Beard is the author of In Zanesville, a novel, and The Boys of My Youth, a collection of essays. Her work has appeared in anthologies, magazines, and literary journals, and has been awarded honors from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Whiting Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and other organizations. She lives in upstate New York and teaches nonfiction at Sarah Lawrence College.
