Evie Shockley’s most recent collection of poetry is The New Black, published by Wesleyan University Press. Shockley is an Associate Professor of English at Rutgers University, and is the author of the critical volume Renegade Poetics: Black Aesthetics and Formal Innovation in African American Poetry.
