Christopher Reed Publishes on Art & Homosexuality
Christopher Reed, Professor of English and Visual Culture, has published a book with the straightforward title Art and Homosexuality: A History of Ideas (Oxford University Press). The title encapsulates the argument of the book: that both our ideas about art and about sexual identity are of relatively recent origin and closely intertwined. Reed’s book draws on a wide range of visual and textual sources, and includes “illustrations” of both images and passages from books.
