Michael Bérubé elected president of the Modern Language Association
In Janauary 2012, Michael Bérubé will become the president of the 30,000-member Modern Language Association, the principal professional association in the United States for scholars of language and literature. He will be the first president in MLA history -- dating back to 1883 -- to come from Penn State.
Bérubé's term of service will be one year; he is currently serving as the MLA's first vice president and will take the office of the presidency at the conclusion of the MLA convention on January 8, 2012.
