Professional Bio

Greg specializes in Rhetoric and Composition, with particular emphasis on the work of Kenneth Burke. His dissertation uses Burke's conception of semiosis to evaluate the linguistic construction of identity in nondominant rhetorics, including (but not limited to) feminist rhetorics, racial and sexual minority rhetorics, and non-Western rhetorics. His scholarship has been published in or is forthcoming from College English, Rhetorica, and Cambridge University Press. Greg lived on the island of Java, Indonesia for 15 years and consequently spends much of his free time trying to make improvised Indonesian food out of Pennsylvanian ingredients.
