Professional Bio
Raymond D. Rosas is a PhD candidate in rhetoric and writing studies. His major academic interests include critical literacy studies, genre systems theory, and the rhetoric of health and medicine. An advocate of the teacher-scholar model of work in the academy, he believes one’s research and pedagogical commitments should function symbiotically toward innovation and professional excellence. In 2019, he received an excellence in teaching award from Penn State’s program in writing and rhetoric. His dissertation work examines the politics of writing instruction, especially as they pertain to African American and Latinx students in predominately white institutions.
