Application Form for the Visual Studies Dual-title Ph.D. Program

To apply for the dual-title PhD program in Visual Studies, students must be enrolled in Penn State’s graduate programs in the departments of English or Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures. Applications are accompanied by a letter of approval from the Director of Graduate Studies in the student’s home department.

Other Penn State departments will soon offer the Visual Studies dual-title option; interested students may contact their Director of Graduate Studies for information about this option, and are welcome to enroll now in classes listed for the Visual Studies degree.

We accept applications at any point in the year from students at any stage prior to PhD candidacy.

For questions about the program and the enrollment process, please contact the Director of the Visual Studies dual-title program, Christopher Reed, at creed@psu.edu.
