OPENINGS IN ADVENTURE LITERATURE: CAPE COD LITERATURE (ENGL 297A)
There are now a few openings in the new course in the Adventure Literature series, Exploring Cape Cod: Its Nature and Culture. Course readings will span the last four hundred years, touching on what Cape Cod has been, what people imagine it to be, and what it might become in the future. Over the Thanksgiving break the class will travel to the Cape, where students will live, work, and study for a week at the Massachusetts Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. The stay will end with a visit to Plimoth Plantation, where students can see how the Pilgrims lived and celebrated their first Thanksgiving.
English majors have the option of taking this as a 400-level literature course. The remaining 1.5 credits earned may be used towards GHA. If you are interested in adding this to your current schedule, contact MUD1@psu.edu as soon as possible. If you have course questions, you may contact the instructor, Dr. Robert Burkholder, at reb5@psu.edu. More information is at http://www.outreach.psu.edu/adventure-lit/.
