Internships

It’s never too soon to start thinking about internships!

Few experiences can be as valuable in helping you think about possible career paths or securing your first job as completing an internship. English majors have had internships in a variety of areas, including editing, publishing, communications, public relations, technical writing, journalism, social media and publicity, nonprofits, law offices, literacy education, community engagement, and assisting with scholarly research.

Students completing internships in these and other areas not only gain valuable experience, but also develop a portfolio of work and professional references, all of which prepare them for their next step, either toward additional internship experiences or the start of their professional careers.

To learn more about how to locate and apply for internships, earn academic credit for internships, or simply talk about ideas and possibilities, please contact Lisa Mangini (mangini@psu.edu), Internship Coordinator for the English Department.
