Sarah Arvio, a poet and translator, has lived in New York, Rome, Paris, Caracas and Mexico City; for many years she has translated for the United Nations in New York and Switzerland. Her books of poetry, published by Alfred A. Knopf, are Visits from the Seventh (2002) Sono: cantos (2006), and the recently published night thoughts: 70 dream poems & notes from an analysis, a hybrid work that is also a memoir and an essay on dreaming and psychoanalysis. She is now working on translations of poets from Spanish, French and Italian. Several of those translations appeared in the FSG Book of 20th Century Italian Poetry (2012). She lives in Maryland by the Chesapeake Bay.
