Professional Bio

Philip's research tends to consider areas of overlap between rhetorical studies and the life sciences. For instance, his dissertation project considers whether rhetoric might be fruitfully understood as a form of echolocation and draws out epistemological, ethical, and pedagogical implications from that premise. His article, "Addressing Apprehension and Appropriation: Adding Mindfulness to Multiliteracies," is forthcoming in Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning (JAEPL).
