Professional Bio
Amiee Zhao is a graduate assistant in the Department of English at Penn State. They graduated from Emory University with a double-major in English and Politics, Philosophy, Law. There, they founded the multimodal magazine Diverge, creating a space for marginalized and experimental writers. Amiee has also worked as a writing center tutor for four years.
Amiee's writing and scholarship lands in science and technology studies, labor theory, Asian diasporic literature, speculative fiction, and memoir. In literature and popular culture, they trace the interactions among technology, identity, and labor. Transferring their skills from literary studies into classrooms, Amiee is also interested in the development of ELL writers, specifically those from East Asia, in an age of technology.
