Professional Bio

Clara Franklin is a Lecturer in the Department of English at The Pennsylvania State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in English from Northern Michigan University (Cum Laude) and a Master of Arts in English/Literature from the University of Toledo (Summa Cum Laude).

Since 2016, Clara has taught various in-person and online courses such as Rhetoric and Composition, Business Writing, Technical Writing, Effective Writing in the Humanities, Introduction to Humanities, and Composition for the ARCHES program (Lourdes University).

In addition to her teaching, Clara has contributed to academic research at institutions such as the Musée Guimet and Institut national d’histoire de l’art with Dr Anthony Cutler, Evan Pugh Professor Emeritus of Art History.

Her professional development includes workshops and conferences, focusing in large part on the integration of technology in teaching and the impact of generative AI in academia. Other research interests include rhetoric, the teaching of first-year writing, 20th-century poetry, art history, and video game studies.
