Professional Bio

Eliza Nicewonger is an Adjunct Instructor in the English Department at The Pennsylvania State University. She teaches English Composition for first-year students and helps them adjust to the standards of higher education. She works hard connecting with her students and helping them achieve their writing goals each semester. Eliza graduated from the BA/MA Creative Writing Program at Penn State in 2024. Her Master’s Thesis was a collection of short stories all set along the I-84 highway. The collection focused on the desperation of surviving in rural America along the busy interstate. In her creative writing program, Eliza mastered her feedback skills including, editing, proofreading, and analyzing her peers’ work. Her passion for creative writing was ignited during this time and she hopes to keep it burning.

During her free time, Eliza enjoys reading and writing literary fiction as well as creating new recipes to cook. She hopes to focus more on her writing aspirations in the future.
