Professional Bio

Ileana Leon received her B.A. in English Literature from The City Universitiy of New York’s York College in 2018. In 2019, she graduated with her M.A. in English Literature from The University of Rochester. She is currently a third year Ph.D. candidate in the Literature & Criticism program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as vice president of their English Graduate Organization. With an emphasis on race, class, and gender, her research interests are multi-cultural identity formation and expressions of sexuality within liminal spaces in post-colonial literature and literature of the Harlem Renaissance. She also works with generational trauma in 20th century Latinx literature. Her theoretical interests include intersectional feminism, postcolonialism, critical race theory, modernism, and queer theory.
