Kristina Bowers

Professional Bio

I am a PhD student at Penn State University studying Rhetoric and Composition and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My research interests include queer/trans, feminist, and embodied rhetorics; digital humanities methods; rhetoric of health and medicine with a focus on disease and pandemic rhetorics; disability rhetoric and accessibility. My professional interests include Writing Program Administration; instructional design, technical communication, and editing. I enjoy hiking, cooking with my wife, and spending time with my two cate in my free time.

I hold a Masters of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching K-12 English as a Second or Other Language as well as a BA in English/Women's and Gender Studies. I have experience teaching EL students at a K-5 school, consulting and program coordination in a university Writing Center, and editing professional and academic materials.
