Professional Bio

Kelsey Peterson has been assistant teaching professor of English at Pennsylvania State University since fall of 2018. Previously, she taught at The Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and at the State University of New York at Geneseo. She received the PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers, for which her work was anthologized in PEN America Best Debut Short Stories (Catapult, 2019). She was also a finalist for the 2019 Chautauqua Janus Prize. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Conjunctions, West Branch, Meridian, Witness, and Necessary Fiction. She holds an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was an Olin Fellow.
