Miriam is a Ph.D. candidate in the English + Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies dual-title program. Her research draws on decolonial queer and feminist scholarship in environmental humanities, American studies, and critical and abolitionist university studies to rethink the development of the cultural, material, and intellectual sites through which educational communities engage with the environments and ecosystems in which they live and work. She is particularly interested in possibilities for creating academic spaces centered on equity and environmental justice.
Miriam is also the graduate assistant for the new English Grad Futures initiative, which is dedicated to developing training at all levels of graduate education in order to prepare emerging researchers for a variety of academic and non-academic careers. If you have questions or would like to be added to the Grad Futures Slack, please contact her via email or visit sites.psu.edu/gradfutures.
