Professional Bio
Bob Burkholder is a former president of the international Ralph Waldo Emerson society, and the editor or co-author of several books on Emerson and Melville. He founded the Penn State Adventure Literature Program in 2000 and has been teaching in that program since then, building it into a model for similar programs at other universities. He served as the associate head of the English Department from 2009 to 2017.
