Professional Bio
Sierra Parker is a dual-title Ph.D. candidate in English and Visual Studies at Penn State specializing in rhetoric and composition. She is currently a doctoral fellow with the Center for Democratic Deliberation. Her research addresses the visual across various media and has engaged AI and digital culture, health campaigns and drug addiction, and archival practices. Her research and teaching prioritize critical engagement with emerging writing technologies.
Sierra received the Superior Teaching and Research (STAR) Award in the College of the Liberal Arts in 2023, and she was awarded the Masters of Arts Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022.
