Professional Bio
Sierra Parker is a Ph.D. student studying rhetoric and composition. Her major research interests include multimodal and multisensory rhetorics, visual and digital culture, addiction studies, archives, and Appalachia. Sierra received the Superior Teaching and Research (STAR) Award in the College of the Liberal Arts in 2023, and she was awarded the Masters of Arts Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022. She embraces a multimodal approach in her pedagogy, recognizing the place of both mind and body in knowledge construction and making space for multimodal composition in her courses.
