“QVC: Queer Visual Culture” Symposium addresses sexuality and the arts

Three speakers are scheduled with paper titles as follows:

James Saslow (Queens College, City University of New York), “Plato or Dante? Michelangelo, Sodoma, and the Dawn of the Queer Imaginary”

Patricia Simons (University of Michigan), “Semen-otics: Embodied masulinity in premodern Europe”.

Charlotte Houghton (Penn State University), “On the Down-Low: The Double Life of Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo”.
