Ali Argahi had essay, How I Became “War-Stricken” in Four Days published in the New England Review.
According to Shara McCallum, the essay, “is about his experience going back to Tehran in 2025 when the ongoing war initially began. At its core, it is also asking enduring questions: What does it mean to be a writer? What is our purpose and what are the stories we must tell and sacrifices we make to tell those stories? What do we owe to our families and loved ones versus what we do owe to ourselves?”
