Congratulations to Claire Bourne, who is featured in a documentary marking the 400th anniversary of the Shakespeare First Folio.

Making Shakespeare: The First Folio will be aired on Friday, November 17 at 9 pm on PBS Great Performances (which means it will air on WPSU locally).

The documentary is narrated by Broadway and TV actress Audra McDonald and features conversations about Shakespeare with Brian Cox (most recently of Succession fame) and King Charles III (most recently the beneficiary of succession), as well as interviews with Claire and her collaborator Jason Scott-Warren (University of Cambridge) about their discovery of John Milton’s copy of the Shakespeare First Folio at the Free Library of Philadelphia. There’s also a strong focus on bringing Shakespeare to new audiences through performance. I hope you get the chance to watch, and I strongly encourage you to bring this to your students’ attention.
