Congratulations to Gabrielle Foreman and Shirley Moody-Turner for their vision and key contributions to a $3.1 million Mellon foundation grant.

The grant has been a collaborative effort between the departments of African American Studies, English, History, and Philosophy, the Humanities Institute, the Libraries, and the College of the Liberal Arts, and it has been a pleasure to see all the pieces of this come together over the past several months under Scott Bennett’s skillful guidance.  But special recognition belongs to the four co-PIs, Gabrielle, Shirley, Cynthia Young, and Amy Allen.
