Congratulations to Julie Park for several achievements.
Julie has been appointed editor of the Penn State Series in the History of the Book at Penn State University Press. Moreover, her article “Line Making as Life Writing: Graphic Literacy and Design in the Eighteenth-Century Commonplace Book” appeared in The Manuscript Book in the Long Eighteenth Century, a special issue of Eighteenth-Century Life edited by Alexis Chema and Betty Schellenberg. Finally, a session was devoted to Julie’s recently published monograph My Dark Room at the past meeting of the American Society of Eighteenth-Century Studies in Toronto (April 4-6). Speakers on the panel included David Alff, Ian Balfour, Lynn Festa, David Taylor and Amelia Worsley. The session organizer was Alicia Kerfoot, who is Julie’s former graduate student at McMaster University and now associate professor of English at SUNY Brockport.
