Gabriel Aguilar was the first-place winner of a CPTSC Diversity Scholarship

The award provides $1000 in travel support as well as a waived registration fee for the CPTSC (Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication) 2022 conference in Colorado Springs, CO.

The committee stated that “Aguilar’s application demonstrates a solid understanding of TPC [Technical and Professional Communication]. Aguilar’s robust involvement in TPC scholarship and practice shows commitment and high potential in the field. The candidate’s research on Humanitarian Technical Communication and his work as a Spanish-English translator in humanitarian technical contexts are particularly impressive. Aguilar shows a strong commitment to TPC, diversity, and social issues.”
