John Smilges has been selected as the winner of the 2020 CCCC Lavender Rhetorics Award for Excellence in Queer Scholarship’s Article Award

John’s article “White Squares to Black Boxes: Grindr, Queerness, Rhetorical Silence,” which appeared in Volume 38 Issue 1 of Rhetoric Review won the award. The Lavender award for this year will be presented at the 2020 CCCC Annual Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday, March 27, at the Awards Presentation. This session will be at 6:10 p.m. in the Wisconsin Center, Ballroom D.
