Kristy Ganoe, together with Shannon McClellan Brooks (Ph.D. Candidate in Rhetoric and Composition, Graduate Consultant at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence [SITE]) and Laura Cruz (Research Professor at SITE) facilitated “Prompt: A Writing Retreat” on June 18 and August 8.

The workshop was inspired by the peer-reviewed publication Prompt: A Journal of Academic Writing Assignments. Faculty gathered to write reflective essays on the theory behind and practice of their favorite assignment prompts. Two participants have already finished and submitted their articles, and several more are in development. Kristy would also like to announce the formation of the SITE Sparkshop, a series of lively professional development opportunities that draw upon classic and emerging theories of student motivation to inspire new approaches to teaching and learning.
