Lee Peterson’s manuscript, ‘R’ is for Rising/Soon After the Sun, was selected for publication from a pool of over 400 submissions by Dancing Girl Press as part of their Dancing Girl Press Chapbook Series.

The first poem, “‘R’ is for Rising/Soon After the Sun,” and the central poem sequence, “Of the Epidemics,” raise questions about what can be recovered through and after loss and what remains unknowable, even in its presence. The final poem, “Quartet for the End of Time,” looks forward with hope in the face of present uncertainties. All poems in the collection are composed predominantly or entirely of found text. The title poem, in fact, draws on text and images found in a tabletop collage at Webster’s Bookstore Café.
