Shirley Moody-Turner’s Portable Anna Julia Cooper (released August 9) was included in the New York Times “Paperbacks to Read,” this week, which is an unusual distinction for editions.

Congratulations to Shirley not only on this recognition, but on all the valuable work she has done recuperating Anna Julia Cooper’s important writings and bringing her the attention she has long deserved. Shirley has really been the driving force behind the new scholarly and public interest in Cooper.  Well done!
