Professional Bio

Philip Bonanno is a graduate student exploring a dual-title PhD in English Literature and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State University. His research interests circle around disabled worlding in response to technological capitalism, particularly within the realms of 21st Century speculative fiction, cultural studies/psychoanalytic theory, and feminist philosophy.

Philip is passionate about accessible pedagogy and has worked on multiple workshops for anti-ableist pedagogies. He is interested in how anti-accommodation discourse has proliferated in the corporate university recently, and what implications that has for the student, both rhetorically and materially.

He came to Penn State from his undergraduate institution in Brunswick, Maine.
