Professional Bio

Chaunece Reed is a dual-titled PhD student in English and African American and Diaspora Studies. She is a Bunton-Waller Graduate Fellow, a 2024-2025 #DigBlk scholar for the Center of Black Digital Research, and a 2021-2023 UNCF/Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Fellow. 

Chaunece’s scholarly interests include digital humanities, 20th and 21st century African American literature, gender/sexuality and race studies. She is drawn to the relationship between capitalism and Black women’s livelihood, showcased particularly within their kinship dynamics and, accordingly, their quality of life.
